Felix's Cattery & Kennels

Questions & Answers

1. How do you charge?

At Felix's we charge by the calendar day, you pay for the day your pet arrives & the day your pet departs, regardless of time, which gives you the flexibility of fitting your arrival & departure (during opening hours) to suit your circumstances.  Out of hours arrival or departure can be be arranged but this will incur a small charge. We have EFTPOS facilities and FULL payment must be made when your pet arrives (or we collect your pet).

2. Will my pet be boarding on it's own?

Yes.  2 - 3 dogs (depending on size) from the same family can share accommodation & exercise time to keep each other company.  All other guests have separate kennels and are exercised individually - NO EXCEPTIONS.

3. Can I inspect where my pet will be staying?

Yes. Please ring to make an appointment for inspection of the Kennels or Cattery.   Inspections are strictly by APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Appointments are necessary as our first priority is ALWAYS to the exercise and feeding of the animals already in our care.

4. Do I supply my pet's food?

No. Felix's provides everything.  We have on hand a wide variety of foods to tempt even the fussiest of eaters.  If your dog or cat have special "out of the ordinary" dietary requirements, this may incur an extra charge or require you to supply the necessary dietary items.

5. What do I need to bring with my pet?

Everything to make your pets stay comfortable is provided. If you wish to make your pets stay more “homely”, a favourite rug (no feather doonas please) or toys & treats are welcomed.  Proof of Vaccination is required. Please ensure your pet has a flea treatment before boarding, unless they have regular monthly treatments. If your pet is due for treatment during boarding, please bring dose with you. We will administer when due.

6. How often will my pet be exercised?

Felix's has 8 large grassed and paved exercise areas for our canine guests.  Our canine guests are separated by mesh fencing, so can still socialise, without any danger of injury. ALL dogs are taken out twice per day for at least 60 mins (depending on weather). Kennels are cleaned while guests are romping & playing.

7. What if my pet becomes ill during the stay?

We have a vet on call 24 hours, 7 days a week.  If your pet has an existing medical problem, we will endeavour to fit in with your vets consultation times (this may incur extra charges).  At all times we will try to contact you, to determine what you would like us to do, but your pets health is important to us & we will seek veterinary care if required.  We would also appreciate a local contact person, if you are in a different time zone or unavailable overseas, to determine care required.

8. What vaccinations are required?

For dogs a minimum of C3, (PREFERABLY C5 which covers kennel cough & influenza).  For cats minimum of F5.

9. What happens if my pet gets distressed being left?

Our experience tells us that it is the owners who get distressed more than the animal guests. We will always take the time to settle your pet with attention & care, treats ,food etc. We are a small kennel with the time to ensure that if your pet does appear to be distressed, we can be there for cuddles & to ensure that their stay is a happy experience.

10. Does Felix's pick up & deliver?

Yes. Airconditioned transport is available between 11.00am and 3.00pm weekdays and some weekends by prior arrangment.   No Pick Up or Delivery of guests on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day or Good Friday. Prices on request.
